BGIS Parents,

I trust you are all having a safe and peaceful summer break. We are hard at work preparing for your child's 2017-18 school year at BGIS to be the best ever. Below are a few reminders that we want you to have on your radar....

  • Online Registration - By now you should have completed your child's online registration for the 2017-18 school year. If this is not complete please do so immediately or call Mrs. Jennifer Cole with any questions at (205) 439-1615.
  • Fee Pay - Myschoolfees will go live on Thursday, July 20th for you to complete your paying of fees. You cannot login before hand. The online interface will look somewhat different this year, so instructions will be forthcoming to help with this process.
  • Volunteers Needed - Girls on the Run is one of our most popular and well supported club organizations at BGIS. This year we have a faculty sponsor, but are in need of a few parent volunteer coaches to help out. GOTR is an empowerment and character development program for 3rd through 8th grade girls that is taught by trained volunteer coaches and teaches self-respect, confidence, accomplishing goals and healthy decision-making. YOU can make a positive impact in the lives of girls within our community as a GOTR coach at Brock's gap this fall. Coaches commit to their role for 10 weeks, leading a group of 10-15 girls for 90 minute practices twice a week with the help of other volunteers. For more information contact Mrs. Laura Cater, or Mrs. Wynne Speir,
  • BGIS and Hoover City Dad's Brigade - This year's event is set for Saturday, July 29, 2017 from 6:45AM to 12Noon. There is still time to sign up and support this great day of service and giving back to our community and school. Our team leaders have an organized list of needed project for anyone willing to help. There is a job for any and everyone, so sign up and come out to get our school ready for the year.
